This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to the Air Student Android application (“App”) distributed via Google Play and any related services. It describes what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights. By using the App, you agree to this Policy.

2. Data We Collect

We collect the following data in connection with the App. This aligns with the data types you may see in the Google Play “Data safety” section.

• Personal and account information (required): Teacher name, your username, and password. This data is necessary to sign you in and link you to your teacher’s classroom. Passwords are hashed and not stored in plain text.
• App activity (required): When you join a class, send chat messages, or use in-app features, we process this activity to provide the live class and chat experience.
• Device or other IDs (required): We collect a device identifier, platform (e.g. Android), screen resolution, and similar technical information sent at login. This is used for security, fraud prevention, and ensuring the App works correctly on your device.
• Session and identifiers (required): We use session tokens and user identifiers stored on your device for the duration of your session to keep you logged in and to deliver the service.
• Preferences (optional): Theme and settings (e.g. “Remember me”, auto-join) are stored locally on your device. You can change or clear them at any time.

We do not collect: precise or approximate location, financial information, health or fitness data, contacts, calendar, or photos/videos from your device. We do not use your data for advertising or sell your personal information.

3. How We Use Your Data

• To authenticate you and manage access to your teacher’s classroom.
• To provide live audio/video classes, chat, and other in-app features.
• For security, fraud prevention, and troubleshooting.
• To honor your in-app preferences (e.g. theme, “Remember me”) where applicable.

4. Data Retention

Session data (e.g. login token) is kept only for the duration of your session and is cleared when you log out or close the App. Data stored on our servers (e.g. account details, chat, recordings if enabled) is retained as long as needed to provide the service and as required by law or your institution’s policies. You or your institution may request deletion of your data by contacting us at the email above.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only: (a) with your teacher or educational institution to provide the service; (b) when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or (c) with service providers who process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality. The App may use standard Google Play services (e.g. for distribution and updates). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that collect personal data for advertising.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. Passwords are hashed and not stored in plain text. Communication with our servers uses encryption (e.g. HTTPS). Session tokens are stored securely on your device and expire when you log out.

7. Local Storage on Your Device

The App uses local storage (and, in a browser context, session storage) for login state, theme, and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. This storage is used only to operate the App.

8. Recordings

If your teacher enables recording, class sessions may be recorded. Recordings are controlled by your teacher or institution. We process and store recordings only as necessary to provide this feature and in line with your institution’s policies.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for use by students in an educational setting. If the App is used by or directed to children under 13 (or the applicable age in your region), we do not knowingly collect personal information from them without appropriate consent (e.g. from a parent or school). If you believe we have collected a child’s data without consent, contact us at the email above and we will take steps to delete it.

10. Your Rights

You may: (a) stop using the App and log out at any time; (b) clear app data or reinstall the App to remove locally stored session and preference data; (c) request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us at the email above or through your teacher/institution. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated Policy. For significant changes, we may provide additional notice (e.g. in the App or via email) where required by law.
